Slab Leak Repair
Slab leak repair for Houston homes, from locating the leak under the slab to the pipe repair and the concrete we pour back.
A whole house repipe in Houston replaces every water supply line in your home with new PEX pipe. Most of the homes we repipe were built before 1970 and still carry water through galvanized steel. Those pipes rust from the inside until the pressure drops and the water runs brown.
VCS Construction and Remodeling has worked on Houston homes since 2007 with master plumbers on the team. Our whole house repipe bids usually run thousands of dollars under the big-name Houston plumbing companies for the same job. A repipe opens walls and ceilings in almost every room. Plumbing-only companies leave that drywall cut open or pass the patching to someone else. We run the PEX, then repair and paint every opening ourselves, one contractor from start to finish.

Galvanized pipe fails slowly, so the signs creep up on you. Water pressure fades at the shower when someone opens another tap. The first water out of the faucet runs brown or orange after a weekend away. Rust stains show up on laundry and around drains.
Builders used galvanized steel supply lines in most homes built before about 1970. The zinc coating wears off and the steel rusts from the inside out. Home inspectors compare it to a clogged artery. A pipe that started at three quarters of an inch can narrow to the width of a straw.
Copper lines have their own failure mode. Pitting inside the pipe opens tiny pinhole leaks through the tube wall. You fix one, and another opens a few feet down the line. Once leaks repeat, patch repairs cost more than they solve.
A whole house repipe ends that cycle for good. Every supply line in the house gets replaced at once, hot and cold. This page covers water supply lines only. If your problem is a slow drain or sewage backup, see our sewer line services page.
House repiping cost depends on the size of the job. We quote each repipe in person, and the estimate is free. The biggest factor is the number of fixtures, since every sink, tub, shower, and toilet needs new lines.
A one story home on a slab repipes faster than a two story home. Attic access matters too, since most new lines run overhead. Tiled walls and tall ceilings take more care to open and patch. Bathroom count moves the price more than square footage does.
Pipe work on most homes takes a few days. The water comes back on each evening, and most families stay in the house. A city inspector signs off on the new lines before the drywall goes back. Drywall repair and paint add a few more days after the inspection passes.
A whole house repipe in Houston also needs a plumbing permit from the city. We handle the permit and the inspection as part of the job. Home inspectors flag old galvanized pipe when a house sells. A permitted repipe with inspection records answers that question for good.
A repipe crew has to cut drywall to reach the old pipes. By the end, a typical job leaves openings in nearly every room. Many plumbing companies quote the pipe work and stop there. The wall repair becomes your problem.
VCS runs the job differently because we are repipe specialists inside a remodeling company. Our master plumbers plan each opening before anyone cuts. After the city inspection, our remodeling side patches the drywall and matches the texture. Then we paint, and the rooms look the way they did before.
Most Houston homes sit on a concrete slab with the original supply lines buried underneath. A PEX repipe skips the slab entirely, so there is no tunneling for supply lines. The old pipes get capped and left in place. New PEX runs overhead through the attic and down the walls, with fewer joints to leak. If one line under the slab is leaking today, our under-slab leak repair page covers the faster fix.

VCS did an outstanding job on our kitchen and master bed/bath remodel. What made them different was their attention to detail from start to finish. Trey would meet with us on a weekly basis to review completed work as well as scheduling and work for the following week. His team was extremely professional, knowledgable, and courteous. They went above and beyond for us and the quality of work was fantastic. They focused and kept to the scheduled timeline. I would highly recommend VCS Construction and Remodeling.

We hired VCS for a custom garage buildout and they delivered to the highest degree. Trey went over countless ideas for what I wanted and I could not be happier with the outcome. He is a well respected car guy in the community so he does know his stuff when it comes to custom Garages. Well Done!
